MOC-145506 LL938 Super Galaxy Explorer (Classic Space 2022)

MOC-145506 LL938 Super Galaxy Explorer (Classic Space 2022)

Update 1/9-23:
I’ve updated the instructions and corrected a couple of errors. Sorry about this taking much longer that I thought it would 🙁
A new and bigger Landing Field has also been released today. You can find this here:
https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-160240/paalrise/quadruple-lunar-landing-field-for-the-ll938-super-galaxy-explorer/
A new video about the new Landing Field has also been uploaded today.

Update 1/7-23:
I’ve just been made aware of that in step 23, there are some wedgeplates that don’t have any studs to connect to, until step 27. I’ll revisit the instructions later this month, and try to remove this error. I guess I’m beeing a bit optimistic, hopeing that there won’t be any more errors? Probable not 🙁 Sorry about this.

This is my take on a bigger brother to the 10497 Galaxy Explorer LL928 released by LEGO in August 2022.

I love the 10497 Galaxy Explorer, and as you migh know, I made the missing Moonbase. I’ve also recreated the Craterplate and the Road- and Landingfieldplates. I’ve even made other roadplates and made newer versions of other Classic Space sets. This is the first of my own MOC’s.

A user asked if I had considered to make a bigger version of the Galaxy Explorer, and at that time, I hadn’t, but then one thing led to another 🙂

Is this spaceship a bigger version of the Galaxy Explorer, or is this something else? I don’t know really, it shares a lot with the Galaxy Explorer, but there are things that might not be that alike. As long as I’m happy with the spaceship, and people that have seen it so far likes it, I don’t think it matters 🙂

I was unsure if I was going to release instructions, because who in their right mind would download instructions, buy the necessary parts and build a spaceship as big as this? I guess none, but if there’s somebody that wants to, they now have the possibility 🙂

The instructions is for an updated version compared to the one I displayed at Kloss22 in October 2022. No big changes, but some small cosmetic changes and some structural changes 🙂

You can see my video’s about the spaceship and my modern Classic Space-collection on my YT-channel https://youtube.com/@bricksofnorway

I don’t think this is a build for a 4 year old child, but nothing advanced, except that the instructions might be tougher to read than the ones LEGO make. I guess the cost is what will keep people from acutally building this spaceship.

I’ve included a XML-file for all the parts you need extra after acquiring two 10497 Galaxy Explorers. If you only have one 10497 Galaxy Explorer and want to collect the rest of the parts manually, then you have to import the parts list to Bricklink or your preffered tool and deduct the parts from the one 10497 Galaxy Explorer set manually.

In BrickLink use the ‘Upload to Wanted List’, and choose ‘Upload BrickLink XML format’ and paste the contents of the file. Remember to remove the comment at the top of the file.

Making these instructions have taken a long time, there’s always some small things to correct to make the instructions easier to read, or some small adjustments to the model to make it better, but at one point, you have to stop doing changes and publish 😀

I have forgotten to mention that I haven’t built the spaceship from the instructions, since I built the spaceship first. But I’ve tried to follow the instructions in my head to find errors and things that are out of order.

Here is the second video about the spaceship at my YT-channel.
